Specification guide

Choosing the right option

The effect is especially noticeable on dark colours and matte lamination. It can highlight logos, patterns, photography details or typographic elements without changing the whole surface.

Good registration and suitable minimum line sizes are important. Spot UV artwork is normally supplied as a separate solid vector layer aligned to the print file.

Does spot UV work without lamination?

It can, but matte lamination often produces the strongest contrast and a stable surface.

Raised UV options exist on suitable equipment and substrates.

Will spot UV alter colour?

The clear coating can make the covered area appear deeper or more saturated because of the gloss.
